before a building can be structured, framed and built it has to have a firm foundation laid-if not it will, one day become unstable and not fit enough to be used. throughout scripture laying foundation is talked about-such as in luke 6:48-49
“They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete”
as we begin to lay our foundation we must use all the substances the Lord has given us in the mix that we are about to pour down-such things as His Word, His love, His promises, His Son and His Holy Spirit.
As we allow the Lord to solidify the clay for our foundation, He will be able to begin mixing the clay for the blocks to build our house (life). As we allow our foundation and house to be formed and built with and in His divine strengthe, we will become a rock and source of strength for the Lord himself. To build a house that cannot be shaken we must remain in Jesus and allow Him the time to put together the blocks and begin the structure and form of our house.
However we come to points in our life when we don’t want to be patient anymore, we don’t want to wait upon the Lord to structure or form our lives and we begin to jump ahead of Him, gathering things we see and think are durable enough to form the substance to make the rock we need to form and build our home. if you are seeming to become tired it is most likely due to the fact that you are doing the work instead of the Lord Jesus. As we take the work of the building upon ourselves we will face hard times, as the substances won’t be working with one another to hold up our structure and soon enough the storms and breakage of our newly formed home will break down and chip away at our foundation-without anything to protect and cover our foundation-it too over time can be broken and worn away.
While the Lord is building your life, forming the next block, placing ones in order and securing your building and foundation-we sure to not rush Him-to learn trust and dependance upon Him as He structures your life centered around Him and His love.
“Lord may you grant us peace of mind as we rest in assurance of your perfect timing and perfect will-for you are the only one who holds the wisdom in how to structure, build and protect not only our lives from damage but our foundation. may we fix our eyes upon you and let you lead us. amen!”

And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.” ephesians 2:20-22
