A Herd of Sheep

After spending six months in England, I am somewhat offended that we are considered sheep aha. Although it has brought insight on the characteristics of sheep (yes we are just like them). And that being said, one of my favourite books in the Bible is Acts. I find it so encouraging to read about the lives of those preparing the way for the Kingdom to be brought to earth. It has also opened my eyes to see the desperate need for unity, not only within our families but also with other believers. There is something beautiful when people coming together to serve the Lord as One Body. Sheep do not live alone, they live in a herd; they protect one another, care for one another and love one another. So often we can become focused merely on influencing others rather than spending time investing and discipling with a few. Where people come together as one to spend their time studying the Word of God, worshipping and praising Him, sharing and giving, eating together, caring for one another through His love and humbling themselves to those around them; I believe we gain a better sense of  Heaven.

“They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common; and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need. Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.” Acts 2:42-4792183123592397225_Jr5YJHi7_c

There is a need for believers to come together to create a community of love, acceptance, peace, passion, commitment and honor. We are to create a culture of manifesting His Kingdom in our own lives and body so that it will seep into the community surrounding us. For the world needs people set on fire to bring upon change and persevering to see it happen. We can talk about change but where is the action and hard work to bring about this radical change?

Our world needs us. Our world needs men and woman committed to the service of Christ. So that as the manifestation of God comes upon us, it will pour out into those around us. We need to take the time to invest into one another, to sow seeds of destiny and affirm our identites in Christ. So when we go out into the world, we will know exactly who we are, we will know exactly what we are called to and there will be no need to waver in our identies in Christ for the world.

It is through a body of people dedicated to the Lord and His will, where the Holy Spirit will manifest and the Kingdom will be so evident. May we begin to arise together to bring forth a generation of men and women empowered by the Holy Spirit to see the Lord move, not only in our own lives but the lives of those around us. And in doing so create a Kingdom Culture where we live, breathe and embrace the King and our inheritance as sons and daughters.

“Never doubt that a small group of committed people can change the world. It is the only thing that has”

Also to add about relationships is dating; It is so easy that we begin to seek to bring someone else into our life. To look for someone who we can invest in. There are healthy relationships and not so healthy relationships. May you come to see that if your relationship isn’t producing life-it isn’t being manifested by the Lord. If talking about God is becoming dry, then something needs to change. Take time before getting in a relationship to grow in identity and sow into one another before coming together. For we must know our own individual call from the Lord upon our lives before we can bring someone else into our life; for our God given purpose is not just in that relationship. For if we don’t know who we are on our own, we will try to define ourselves with that person. May we edify ourselves in God before entering a relationship so we may be a whole person instead of half of one, finding our fulfillment fully in the Lord so we are not seeking that in them. Be patient; for if it is the will of God, He will open doors in His time for you to come together.

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden” Matthew 5:14

For if we are the lights of the world, as we come uniting together; the brighter we will shine into the world.
